MRN Charity Of The Year Update – MK Running Festival

Our thanks to the MRN in Milton Keynes for choosing us as a charity of the year. The MRN team braved the elements and took part in the MK Running Festival. Elaine Wylie who is also running the London Marathon to fundraise for our charity, tells us about the event in her own words…

MRN Charity Of The Year

Several members of the MRN took part in the MK Running Festival last weekend which offers events from 5 km up to 20 miles for those preparing for the Marathon season. It was as always a really well-organised event but due to the time of year the weather can be a challenge and this year was no exception. With torrential rain preceding the start, all the competitors had to wade through a flooded underpass at mile two and then contend with gale-like cold winds as they battled around the course. All members of the team were very pleased with their efforts and for me completing the 20 miles at this point of training was a great mental milestone.

If you have already donated thank you very much! If you would like to donate please see the links on this page and you will be able to make a difference to 2 charities that are close to the heart of the MRN.

A heartfelt thank you to the staff at the MRN for choosing Home-Start as their charity of the year. So far they have fundraised over £900 for our Bedfordshire Charity! If you would like to support their fundraising efforts, please visit their JustGiving fundraising page.
