Leah Aged 11 Takes On Her Fundraising Challenge

We received a wonderful letter from Leah, aged 11 who is planning a fundraising challenge, facing her fears by reaching the top of a climbing wall in aid of our charity.

We called Leah to find out more about her brilliant fundraising idea and this is what she said:

“I’m really excited about raising money to help children in Luton. I’ve decided that i’m going to climb to the top of the climbing wall in Milton Keynes Snow Dome, i’ve tried a couple of times but I always get too scared, it’s so high! I like the feeling of helping other people and have raised money for other charities in the past. This time I want to raise £350 for Home-Start and i’m hoping people will donate to help me.”

Wishing you the best of luck Leah with your climbing event! A huge thank you for your fundraising efforts and sending us your letter and photo, we look forward to hearing how your fundraising challenge goes.

Fundraising Challenge Update

Congratulations to Leah who completed her fundraising challenge by facing her fear of heights and reaching the top of a 43ft climbing wall!

“I was really scared when I looked down and saw how high I was, i’m so happy I managed to reach the very top… By the end I really enjoyed it and didn’t want to get off the climbing wall! I hope Home-Start are happy with the money i’ve raised.” says Leah aged 11.

We are very grateful to Leah for raising over £100 for our charity! It costs us just £15 to support a family for a week – The funds raised will go a long way to helping us support more families with young children.
