Elaine Wylie our 2017 London Marathon runner talks to us from New York about her training for the big charity run. A heartfelt thank you to Elaine for all of the hard work she is putting into her marathon training in aid of supporting our charity.
Business has taken me to the Big Apple this week and given me the opportunity to explore Central Park. New York is experiencing really unseasonal weather and my run this morning at 8 am around the park was done under perfect blue skies and 12 degrees. After the 20 miles last weekend (in the MK Running Festival) I have been giving my legs a bit of a rest so it was great to do just a few miles with the many New Yorkers who run the park daily.
Thank you to anyone who has been reading the blog and taking the time to donate to Home-Start, the local charity that provides support and friendship to struggling families. Elaine’s charity run has so far fundraised over £700 including Gift Aid to help our services for local families with young children. If you would like to show your support, please visit Elaine’s Virgin Money Giving marathon page.
